Update: Remmington will be 8 months the end of November and he and his brother, Indy, are both turning out to be big, beautiful boys. Remmington loves to be held  when he knows & trusts you. He would love to get a home with Indy but would be fine adopted separately. He gets along great with other cats & cat-friendly dogs. He has the sweetest face ever and just gets more handsome everyday. Remmington is super playful and loves a good game of tag with Indy or chasing the laser light! He is waiting to meet his new family every Saturday & Sunday at the Aventura PetSmart. You can meet him during the week by appointment with an approved application.

                                                                                                                                     Remmington has come a long, long way in the last couple of months - from a terrified feral kitten to a sweet, playful little boy that craves attention and love. He is still pretty cautious and is hoping for a family that will love him and give him the time he needs to build the trust that all our 4-legged family members need & deserve. He was rescued with his brother, Indy, and his sister, Maya, when they were just 2 months old - just babies but old enough to fear the unknown. While they did their best in the beginning to avoid any human contact of any kind - they were completely UN-aggressive. None of them has ever shown a second of aggressive behavior. The ideal foster home for shy kitties would have only 1 or 2 fosters - the 2nd one, hopefully, confident & outgoing. Having a shortage of foster homes for shy kittens has meant that these siblings have stayed together. When that happens, they tend to look to each other for comfort & support rather than people. After Remmington's sister, Maya, got adopted, Remmington & Indy suddenly started begging their foster mom for attention. And, Maya has blossomed quickly and amazingly in her new home. She was probably the most stand-offish of the whole litter and just a little individual attention - away from her brothers - brought out the affection and confidence we suspected was hiding inside her. Within one week, she was sleeping on their bed and her new family was bragging about how wonderful she is. Not only do they love her but they feel really great about taking a chance on a shy kitten.

Remmington is a gorgeous silver Mackerel tabby with green eyes. He is doing his very best to be brave and confident and is a completely different cat than a few months ago when he was rescued. With people he knows, he circles around their ankles, meows for attention & purrs but he is still hesitant about being picked up. He is 5 months old now  (9/1/12) and won't take too long in his new home to know he is loved & safe and to bond with his new family. He has gotten along well with every other cat he has met in his foster home and with the cat-friendly dogs. He will be at the PetSmart in Aventura most week ends until he gets adopted.
