The best way to describe Apollo is with the expression “not a mean bone in his body”.  He is an amazing boy – a cat like no other.

Apollo takes things as they come with calm acceptance.  He’s pretty much the Buddha boy of the cat world!

He is a BIG BOY but don’t let his size fool you – he is a big teddy bear and probably one of the biggest lovable fur balls you will ever meet.  He is extremely laid back and mellow, stunningly handsome and he was blessed with an incredible personality.

Apollo is a loving, loyal, friendly and very social guy.  He wants to be in the company of his family and will follow you around just like a dog.  Apollo is for anyone who wants a lot of cat (in every sense of the word).  There is nothing not to like about this supersized charmer.  He is wonderful with adults, children and other cats and probably a cat friendly dog.

When Apollo was a kitten, he was given as a gift to a family.  As he grew up, his family decided to make him an indoor/outdoor cat and then they decided to make him an outdoor only cat.  I guess the saying “out of sight, out of mind” would apply to Apollo’s situation because eventually they forgot about Apollo and no longer took care of him (Apollo is approx. 11 months old as of 2/2013).

Apollo was rescued from living on the streets and is now in a foster home being treated like a king.  However he has paid the price for living his life on the streets.  Apollo has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus).  But, don’t let that scare you away because cats that are FIV+ can and do live long, happy and healthy lives.  FIV is not transmittable to humans or other species – only to cats – and can only be spread to another cat through a blood transfusion or a deep penetrating bite wound.  Based on Apollo’s personality, that is unlikely to happen.

FIV should not be looked at as a death sentence or a stigma that prevents an incredible boy like Apollo from coming into your home and receiving the love he deserves because you will be missing out on the best pet experience of your life.
