Tabby / Mixed (short coat) : : Female : : Baby : : Medium
I'm Charlotte, a brown tabby girl with a super soft coat and spots of fascinating patterns. I was found by a garbage dumpster searching for food when I was only 6 weeks old - but I'm not trash - I'm an inspiration! I'm a sweet, playful, curious and adventurous kitten. Actually, I'm a little dynamo - running around and playing with any toy I can get my paws on. I will supply you with endless entertainment and act in ways that are just plain charming and adorable. You will notice that I wobble when I walk and that's because I was born with a condition called Feline Cerebellar Hypoplasia ("CH") in which a part of the brain that controls fine motor skills and coordination is underdeveloped at birth which results in walking and balance problems. Some people refer to CH cats as the "drunken sailor" or "wobbly cats" but I prefer to be called "the hula girl". There are different degrees of CH, ranging from mild to severe cases and I'm lucky to only have a mild case of CH. I'm not sick or hurt, I have no pain or discomfort, my intelligence is normal, and my condition will not worsen as I get older, I'm not contagious to other cats and my life expectancy is the same as a cat without CH. I'm just a regular kitten in every way and CH doesn't affect my health or my behavior - I'm just mildly uncoordinated but I make up for it with my personality, my spirit and my courageous heart. One of my most endearing attributes is my attitude. I have incredible determination in overcoming any balance issues and if I take a little tumble, I pick myself up and move on as if nothing ever happened. I'm just differently-abled! Currently, there is no treatment for this condition. However, cats with CH have a normal life expectancy and learn how to compensate for their condition, which leads to a full and happy life. There's no reason to be scared of me, so please consider giving me a warm and loving home because I love and purr just as much as any other kitten.
