ADOPTION PENDING While an Adopt A Stray volunteer was rescuing another cat she saw a very small skinny cat limping under her car. Her right leg was swollen and she could not put any weight on it. She also had an open wound on her right shoulder. She asked one of the residents about the cat and the response was...we used to feed her in the back of our house when she had a litter of kittens but we don't feed her anymore. The cat being very sweet and was scooped up and vetted the next morning. Dory was x-rayed and a BB was found in her leg. Her shoulder was much worse than it appeared at first and she had to have surgery to clean it out. They found pebbles and dirt in it and she had to have numerous sutures with a tube for draining. With all this going on Dory allowed the vet to examine her, draw blood and she continued to purr. Dory will be ready for adoption soon, it turned out that Dory is very healthy, a little thin, but has a great appetite.
