Meet Rainbow - a whole lot of calico beauty!

With 3 great colors in the mix, Rainbow looks like she was put together by an expert quilt maker.  And, did you know that calico's share the colors of Maryland's state bird the Baltimore Oriole and it's state insect the Checkerspot butterfly.

When Rainbow was rescued at 6 weeks old she was a timid and scared little cutie.  It has taken Rainbow a bit to gain her confidence and gradually she has learned that humans have gentle hands, bring food toys and love and she has come out of her shell.

In her foster home where she feels comfortable and safe, Rainbow is as loving, playful and fun as any other kitten.  She's not always quick to jump into new situations but when she does get comfortable, she runs and plays like the wind.  She really enjoys getting attention and having her "hair" combed - just don't look for her to burst with enthusiasm right off the bat!

She gets along great with other cats and would love the companionship of another furry body to tumble around and play with.

Rainbow is on a quest to find a special human family that will give her the time, patience and love that she will need before she can really feel like your home is her home.
