Please contact info@adoptastray.ws for more information about this pet. Maggie was born in June 2004, she looks to be an Australian Shepherd approximately 40 pounds. Here is her story: Maggie lived a wonderful life with her elderly human mother and companion cat. From what we are told by a family member, is that Maggie was the love of this woman's life. The police were called when this family member who lived out of town could not reach her aunt. Unfortunately, Maggie's mom passed away and Maggie and the cat were left alone for days in the house. Maggie was given 5 days to be adopted or rescued. She didn't look well, she was overweight and her fur was missing in spots and she appeared depressed or lethargic. On the 5th day after a restless nights sleep an Adopt A Stray volunteer rescued her. Here is Maggie's update: She is a vibrant, loving, very intelligent dog who is full of life. She is a go with the flow kind of pup, meaning she is ok just hanging around the house or running around playing. Everyday Maggie blossoms into a happy and loving dog. She gets along well with a houseful of cats and dogs. She is completely housebroken and extremely well mannered. She loves walks, loves to run in the yard and her favorite napping place is under the bed. Her fur is growing in and with a little exercise her girlish figure is returning. Her foster mom can't believe how quickly she adjusted. She is neither lethargic or depressed, she was probably very depressed at the shelter after losing her mom and cat and being in a noisy shelter. FYI the cat was also rescued. If you are interested in meeting this young at heart pup, she can be seen by appointment and applications can be filled out online.
