Please contact info@adoptastray.ws for more information about this pet. Alura has had a very rough time recently but because she is a strong determined girl she is now ready for her forever home. Alura was put outside when her owners moved away, she was not spayed and of course, was impregnated shortly after. She had five babies and was discovered with them when they were less than 3 days old. Adopt A Stray stepped up to foster both mom and kittens and eventually find them all homes. Alura was a wonderful mom, friendly and affectionate with everyone who was trying to help her but at the same time kept a watchful eye on all her babies. When the kittens were about 4 weeks old, Alura stopped eating. At first the vet could not find anything wrong with her, but as she continued to not eat herself but feed her kittens her weight dropped dangerously low and the kittens were taken to be bottlefed. That same day,an ultrasound showed there was a possible rupture in her uterus and she had an emergency spay surgery. The vet said her uterus literally disintegrated in his hands. Fortunately the pathology report determined all was well with her and she recovered amazingly quickly once she regained her appetite. Alura is now looking for her forever home. In her foster home reports that she is an extremely affectionate loving cat. She loves to sit next to you or on your lap. She has a little chirp to make her presence known before she jumps up to be with you or when she's hungry. Now that she has her energy back she loves playing with toys on strings, and enjoys the occasional catnip treat. You can see from her pictures that she is gorgeous and her thick striped tail is absolutely amazing. You can meet Alura at the Pembroke Pines Petsmart where she is currently living.
